The Senate Transportation Committee is scheduled to hear SB 27, a bill to repeal the current 45/30 mph speed limits on Lake Winnipesaukee on Thursday, February 24 at 9 a.m. in room 305/307 of the Legislative Office Building in Concord. Since the summer of 2009, speed limits have been effective in making the lake safer for paddlers, families, and all lake enthusiasts, as well as better protecting the lake.
Repealing these reasonable limits will take us back to the chatoic and unsafe days where changing lake conditions, heavy boat traffic, and high speeds can be a deadly combination.
