Some post-Irene condition updates to share in advance of the weekend:
The Kancamagus Highway will open this Sunday, Sept. 11. AMC thanks Governor Lynch, DRED Commissioner George Bald, the incredible DOT crews and contractors who worked so hard to re-open this vital Scenic Byway and East-West link.
Route 302 through Crawford Notch remains closed; target date to re-open is September 30, though date is subject to change.
Also, due to hazardous conditions the Dry River Trail is closed until further notice.
Tropical Storm Irene caused heavy trail and bridge damage on the trail; the WMNF continues to assess and repair the damage.
We will continue to post updates as they become available. Happy & safe hiking this weekend!Labels: Hurricane Irene, White Mountain National Forest, White Mountains
