Stop the Largest Cuts to Conservation Funding in Pennsylvania’s History

We need your help today to protect our lands, waters, and trails in PA! Governor Corbett’s proposed 2012-2013 budget contains drastic cuts to environmental, recreation, and conservation programs, including slashing funding for the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and the Growing Greener program.

The proposed budget also completely and permanently eliminates funding for conservation, park, and recreation programs under the Keystone Fund. This is a loss of $30 million dollars to these programs — the single largest cut ever proposed to conservation in Pennsylvania!

This is a reckless move that threatens outdoor recreation in our state. Furthermore, it’s a reckless move for our economy — a recent report from the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources shows that for every dollar invested in state parks, $12.41 in revenues is returned to Pennsylvania.
