Today, Sept 20th, 2013 EPA announced a proposal to control carbon emissions from new power plants. This is an important step forward in curbing the impacts of climate change. There is no doubt that fossil fuel burning is changing our environment and hence impacting natural resources we rely on. Senator Angus King’s recent speech highlighted the real world economic and cultural consequences of human-caused climate change here in the Northeast. AMC applauds Senator King’s call for action, and we also strongly support Senator Jean Shaheen’s energy efficiency bill, another important mechanism to gain progress for cleaner air and water and real actions that will save energy and address climate change.
