Urban smog relief is coming soon! Good news for those of us who exercise and recreate in, and downwind of, large urban areas. The air will be cleaner thanks to today’s finalization of gas and tailpipe clean up effort by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with current technology to be implemented in the 2017 automobile model year.
Thanks also to many of YOU who wrote to EPA on the need for this important advancement sharing your struggles with exercise induced asthma, desire for healthy outdoor air for you and your family, and overall recognition that cleaner and more efficient cars makes sense. Indeed this Clean Air Act vehicle rule will result in cleaner gasoline and less pollution from tailpipes equivalent to taking 33 million cars off the road all for about 1 penny per gallon of gas!
